Disaster Recovery
Swift utilise the highest quality hardware to ensure exceptional reliability,
however if the worst happens we have a number of measures in place to ensure
that downtime is kept to an absolute minimum.
The servers are monitored 24/7 and engineers automatically paged within 15
minutes of a fault being detected.
Our servers employ two Hard Disk Drives configured with RAID1 disk mirroring,
so if one drive fails the system continues to function on the remaining drive
with
no loss of data.
We utilise Virtuozzo VPS on our servers which creates a scheduled backup
of all VPS servers to a backup server. The backup server is configured
and ready to go in the data centre. If a Server fails, the backup
server can be loaded with the last VPS backup and quickly brought on-line.
Virtuozzo VPS also allows live server migration from one hardware platform to
another with virtually no downtime.
