Click on Make New Connection to start the wizard

The wizard will ask for the method which is used to connect to the internet. This guide will cover the set-up for a normal dial-up link.

Set the wizard for manual set up.

Select the phone line and modem option below. ISDN also falls into this category.Networks will use the LAN option and connect via their server. (not covered here)

Enter the telephone number for the Swift dial-up server.

Enter your Swiftserve dial up account details. (Username and password)

Finally, give the connection a user friendly name.

Email
The wizard then goes on to ask if you wish to configure the email account on this machine. Click yes to do so, or click no to finish the wizard.

To get the wizard underway, select YES and next. You will be asked to provide a name for the top of each email you will send (ie your name, company name, etc). Enter a name then click NEXT.
Then enter your chosen email address.

The wizard will then ask for your mail server addresses (incoming and outgoing)
|
Notes on incoming mail server addresses: Your swift server will dictate the address required for the set-up.
- Server one: mail.swiftinter.net
- Server two: mail2.swiftinter.net
- Server three: mail3.swiftinter.net
|
Outgoing mail servers (SMTP) depend on the ISP connection you are using. If you are using Swift to connect, the mail server will be smtp.swiftserve.net
If not, then the SMTP server will be specified by the ISP. If in doubt, please consult them for direction.

Finally, the wizard will ask for your pop mailbox username and password.

That's it. Finish the wizard and the connection is ready to go.

Warning!!! Prior to using the email applications, Swift Internet strongly recommends the installation of a suitable anti-virus program and the use of the Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Packs to avoid damage by malicious programs. |
