The Fetch program allows you to publish and download pages to and from your web site, using a simple GET and PUT instruction to move the files. This FAQ is based on Fetch 3.03 on Mac OS 9
Uploading
To begin the process of uploading your page, open Fetch and enter the following information:

For Server types 1 & 2 enter: /httpdocs (always enter in lowercase) Server Type 3 to 8 enter: /web (always enter in lowercase) Server Type 10 to 24 enter: /httpdocs Server Type 50 to 60 enter: /httpdocs |
The option for passive mode transfer is within the "Preferences" Tool within Fetch. Modem users should not use this. ADSL connections with NAT may need to - consult your vendor
Then Click OK to commence dialing, using your existing dial up provider settings:

Once you successfully connect, you will be presented with the contents of your web directory. This displays all the files and images visible to the internet.

You must navigate into the folder you wish to upload to, then click PUT FILE. You then need to find the file you want to upload on your computer. Clicking on the file will then start the upload

If you want to download a file, simply click on GET FILE. You then enter the location and name of the file you want.

Important Note Your default page (Home Page) must be named index.html otherwise it will not automatically load upon entering the site. Please also note that the Server is case sensitive to file names, therefore we recommend that you always use lower case.
