What is FTTC
Fibre To The Cabinet known as FTTC provides a Super-Fast broadband connection over Fibre Optic Cable from the Telephone Exchange to the green street-side box. Then the shorter run of cable between the street-side box and the premises uses a copper telephone line and VDSL. This provides much higher speeds than ADSL Broadband, particularly the Upstream speed which can be between 2Mbps and 10mbps.
The faster speeds of FTTC provide small-business with new opportunities for remote working, VPN, VOIP and services requiring enhanced upstream speeds, without the cost associated with leased lines or SDSL.
