configure_swiftxmail_manually_on_the_iphone

Configure **SwiftXmail** manually on the iPhone using Exchange ActiveSync

Preferably, the SwiftXmail service should be set-up on the iPhone or iPad using the auto-configuration utility in your Account control panel. (See separate instructions.) The following instructions are provided if you need to set-up manually.

To set up your iPhone to access Exchange ActiveSync, follow these steps:
1. On your iPhone or iPhones home screen, tap Settings.
2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
3. Tap Add Account.
4. Tap Microsoft Exchange.

NOTE: Only one Exchange ActiveSync account can be set up at once.


5. Complete the following required fields:

  • Email (Your full email address)
  • Server (webmail.yourdomainname.tld
  • Domain (leave blank )
  • Username (Your full email address)
  • Password (Your email password)
  • Description ( A friendly name for the account. Maybe your email address)

6. Tap Next.

7. The following message will display: “Unable to verify account information.”

  • Tap OK and then tap Save.
  • You should see the “Adding Account” dialogue, and the phone returns to the list of accounts.
  • Tap the account, then tap it again to go into it's settings.
  • Change “Use SSL” to “Off, and click **Done*”

8. The iPhone will display a list of collaboration items to sync with Exchange ActiveSync. Choose from the list (usually All)
